In this project, we worked closely with both physical computing and surface labs, The integration of these two labs provided a distinctive platform for research, experimentation, design, and prototyping centred around the notion of ‘functional fabrics.’

Cycling in London can be both convenient and environmentally friendly but there can also be a large amount of barriers which prevent people from choosing this mode of transportation. safety and convenience are two of the key factors in this project as we designed an alternative to a rental bike rider not wearing a helmet. This design response does not aim to replace the helmet but aims to investigate the context of usage and scenario in which those who rent bikes make a spontaneous decision and are not fully prepared for their journey.
